About the Site

Today, I am an Innkeeper at a small in (6 rooms) in New England. But for the last 15 years, I was an I.T. guy, working on everything from network engineering, to web development and SEO. I have managed website design, photography, content production and/or code for countless sites over the years and have learned a lot from the experiences. While Innkeeping is new to me, reviewing websites certainly was not…

After becoming an Innkeeper, I realized that there are probably more directory sites in this industry than any other I have ever worked in. I was overwhelmed with daily “Add your listing” emails.

Looking around, I found a decent guide at InnStar.com, however it looks like the site hasn’t been updated in over a year. The author there was also rating the sites from a different perspective than I would have. Being a young innkeeper (After all, I am only 32) I represent a different demographic of inn-goer. My friends and I are definitely part of the new generation of traveler who uses the internet as their exclusive source to select their destinations and book their travel.

So, I decided that I would put together a website of my own. A guide of these directories, along with whatever else (inn related of course) crosses my path. A few hours, a lucky find of a pretty good domain name and a little Wordpress magic later and Innkeeping.org was born.

I encourage you to leave feedback, comment on posts and to submit any sites you would like reviewed. Feel free to email me at Innkeeper@innkeeping.org or post your comments directly to the site (site comments are moderated for spam only). Thanks for reading!
